A Nurturing Start: The Toddler Years (18–36 Months)

The toddler years—spanning from 18 to 36 months—are a profoundly formative period in a child's life. It’s during this time that the foundation for character, habits, and an understanding of the world begins to take root.

At Montessori Greenhouse School, we honor the natural sensitivity and eagerness of toddlers to explore, learn, and grow. Our thoughtfully prepared environments are designed to nurture this curiosity and support the whole child—emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively—during this critical stage.

Our Toddler classrooms are warm, welcoming spaces that intentionally reflect the comfort and familiarity of a home. Each environment includes dedicated areas for:

  • Food preparation and mealtime routines
  • Toileting and self-care
  • Independent exploration and discovery
  • Group activities and social engagement

Every material in the classroom is carefully chosen to meet the developmental needs of toddlers, offering daily opportunities to build language skills, coordination, independence, and confidence—all within a respectful, supportive atmosphere where each child is seen, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
