Early Childhood Program
Early Childhood/Preschool Program (3 - 6 years)
Laying the Foundation for Lifelong Learning
The Early Childhood years are a time of incredible growth—physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. At Montessori Greenhouse School, our Early Childhood program provides a rich, dynamic environment where children ages 3 to 6 engage in purposeful learning, guided by their natural curiosity and the desire to become independent, capable individuals.
Our classrooms are carefully prepared to meet the developmental needs of each child. Children are free to choose from a wide range of hands-on activities in areas such as:
- Practical Life – building coordination, concentration, and independence through everyday tasks
- Sensorial Exploration – refining the senses and laying the groundwork for abstract thinking
- Language – developing communication skills, vocabulary, reading, and writing
- Mathematics – gaining a concrete understanding of numbers, patterns, and logic
- Cultural Studies – exploring geography, science, art, and music to cultivate a global perspective
Our mixed-age preschool classrooms foster a strong sense of community, where older children take on leadership roles and younger ones learn through observation and collaboration. Teachers serve as gentle guides, encouraging each child’s unique potential while respecting their pace of learning.
Through this carefully designed experience, children gain confidence, self-discipline, a love of learning, and the social-emotional tools to thrive in school and in life.

Seeing the classes in session is important and will help you understand how our classrooms work. We will also explain Montessori philosophy and answer any questions you might have.
